We Were Young
Written by C. Anthony
Climbing down from the hill on a cold October day
We were young and unafraid but times have changed
And men grow old and hearts grow cold
And people move on with things
But nothing changes
Build the wall tear it down and they don't make a sound
With your ear down to the ground
And then they come and they take your soul away
And they sell it back to you
They got you cornered with your back against the wall
And they want everything oh but nothing changes
No nothing at all because
There's a storm on the horizon
And it's coming for you in the night
Taking everything away from you
The sea is rising ever steady
It is breaking over every shore
It is washing over you
Close your eyes now
Marching men on the hill as the storm begins to blow
And the fields behind them burn
And then they come with their guns
With their anger and their fear
And they make you
And they make you a prisoner
But nothing changes no nothing
Nothing at all because
There's a storm on the horizon
And it's coming for you in the night
Taking everything away from you
The sea is rising ever steady
It is breaking over every shore
It is washing over you
Close your eyes now
